Bookmarked, Dog-Eared, Rooted

Glorious Sunday morning! As I sit in my favorite spot for writing, it’s still dark outside, so my drapes are pulled shut. The only thing cunning enough to travel through those panels is the rhythmic drip, drip, dripping of the soft rain playing a medley of sorts outside my window. Normally, the panels are pushed to the left and to the right, revealing all things Autumn with the beautiful coppers, golds, browns, yellows, oranges, and hints of green high up in the canopy.

An hour has passed since I first started this post. I wasn’t dillying or dallying — just putting some things in their proper places with an intentional mindset of decency and order. Now that I’ve returned to my favorite writing spot on the left side of my bed, panels drawn to the left and the right, I can see all things Autumn — all the colors I mentioned before, but this time they’re wafting, flying, flirting near my window in a steady stream before gently gliding to the ground — a new canvas to be painted with its transient colors.

Transient, temporary, coming to a close next month — frozen in time by the early but expected freeze and blanketed beneath a bed of wet snow. Autumn will soon end to usher in Winter. No need to bookmark Autumn. No need to dog ear Autumn. Unless you want to be rooted there, frozen there, and blanketed beneath a bed of wet snow.

Chapters end so new ones can begin. Chapters end so new ones can begin. Chapters end so new ones can begin. Chapters end so new ones can begin. Chapters end so new ones can begin. Chapters end so new ones can begin. Chapters end so new ones can begin. Chapters end so new ones can begin. Chapters end so new ones can begin. Chapters end so new ones can begin.

I’d say it again, but I only needed 10 to close this chapter so another can begin. Know better. Do Better Twogether.

You write so beautifully Michelle! I love the imagery – I can see so clearly everything you are describing, and I love the analogies. I get it! If I can add … be open to new beginnings and new chapters. They are exciting and refreshing!

    1. Thanks so much, Lorraine. I am definitely open to go where God sends me to do whatever he says do.
