About a year or so ago, I attended a full-day workshop on a Saturday morning. The presenter was a brilliant man, and I had witnessed him give a message or two from the pulpit of my church before. He’s not the type of pastor with the charisma that would fill a megachurch, but he is a knowledgeable, respected teacher. He began the session with an icebreaker. He asked, “How many of you know Michael Jordan?” As I scanned the room, I noticed that every person had raised his or her hand — including me. When he noticed all hands up, he said, “Put your hands down. You don’t know that guy. You know of him, but you don’t know him.”
Imagine if he were to ask the same question, but instead of saying Michael Jordan’s name, he said God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Would every hand go up? Would he tell you to put your hand down like before? Only you and God know the state of your relationship, and it’s as unique as you are. There’s no better time than at this very moment to seek him while he may still be found and get to know him better. You won’t have to search for him; he’s closer than your next breath and already knows you fully.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. ~Psalm 139:13
No one on Earth can boast about knowing you better than you know yourself. Only God has the right to brag about such things. After all, he numbered your days and the hairs on your head. No one else can boast about that. He knew you before you were in your mother’s womb, and he is the only one whose promises are secure.
Be thankful that the God of heaven and Earth knows you fully and has promised that one day his work in you will be complete, that one day he will wipe every tear from your eyes, and that one day you will see his face.

That’s a really great analogy that the presenter used and definitely something to ponder on. God’s desire is for us to know Him intimately but we have to be willing to make a move towards Him. Good stuff!

I am reminded in Romans 8: 16-17 that : we are children of God, and if children, then… heirs of God and joint with Christ.
We must remember to stay close, and be committed to the word and not be so busy doing other things, that we get behind in studying the word of God.
